“I am free forever from condemnation”
Therefore there is now no condemnation for those who are in Christ Jesus (Romans 8:1)
What is condemnation? The expression of strong disapproval, the act of condemning someone to severe punishment.
When Jesus took our sins upon Himself at the cross, he also took our death sentence away, it is true in Romans 3:23 when it says All have sinned and fallen short of the glory of God. All deserve a death sentence and Jesus took it for us nailing our sin to the cross so our sins are remembered no more.
Well okay Melissa, you might say, but why do we still feel that tinge of pain when we do “wrong”? It’s one of two reasons……
1. Conviction from the Holy Spirit dwelling in us loving on us and saying wow this isn’t good for you I long to protect you from this.
2. Satan is the father of lies and he enjoys accusing the brethren day and night, and at time we listen to him instead of Papa.
So what am I saying? Well I’ll let the word of God say it for me….
This is the covenant I will make with them after those days says the Lord: I will put my laws upon their heart, and on their mind I will write them,” He then says AND THEIR SINS AND LAWLESS DEEDS I WILL REMEMBER NO MORE. (Hebrews 10:16,17)
And Romans 8 wraps up with this….
“What then shall we say to these things? If God is for us, who is against us? He who did not spare His own Son, but delivered Him over for us all, how will He not also with Him freely give us all things? Who will bring a charge against God’s elect? God is the one who justifies; who is the one who condemns? Christ Jesus is He who died, yes, rather who was raised, who is at the right hand of God, who also intercedes for us. Who will separate us from the love of Christ? Will tribulation, or distress, or persecution, or famine, or nakedness, or peril, or sword? Just as it is written, ” FOR YOUR SAKE WE ARE BEING PUT TO DEATH ALL DAY LONG; WE WERE CONSIDERED AS SHEEP TO BE SLAUGHTERED.” But in all these things we overwhelmingly conquer through Him who loved us. For I am convinced that neither death, nor life, nor angels, nor principalities, nor things present, nor things to come, nor powers, nor height, nor depth, nor any other created thing, will be able to separate us from the love of God, which is in Christ Jesus our Lord.”
